At our re-scheduled final outing of 2025 at Rush Golf Club on Friday 14th October 2025, we had a 3-way tie for the overall winner’s prize. With all 3 ending on 39 pts and following a countback, the eventual winner was Willie Buckley, followed by Paddy McSteen and Bill Hanley. Overall, it was a disappointing turnout but we lost approximately 10 players due to the cancellation of the scheduled outing on 3rd October due to Hurricane Humberto. Nevertheless, 35pts was needed to secure one of the 9 prizes on offer. The AGM followed the presentation of prizes. With the diamond jubilee on the horizon, we are thrilled to have two of our loyal members leading us into what we hope will be a very successful year. Our founder member, Derry McEvoy was again installed as President and Liam O’Connor as Captain, ably assisted by his vice captain, Jeff Maguire. There was just one motion at the AGM which was an increase to the annual subscription from €30 to €40, the first increase for ordinary members in 17 years (2008 AGM) and which was duly passed unanimously. The only other item of contention that was discussed was payment for the continual use of the website, as the fee in 2026 will be in excess of €400. It was agreed that Willie and Andy will further review the pros and cons of retaining it.
